Life is all about relationship.
Standing in an arc of trees I could hear the wind blowing the leaves around. It was as though there was a secret orchestra playing as the wind turned each of thousands of leaves.
It was at that point that I heard in my head the words, ‘It’s all about relationship, it’s about being in relationship with me- Its about the love I have for you in the most intimate way. The way of formation and creation is very intimate. Intimacy comes through love. There is no intimacy without love. I am singing to you now. Every leaf on these trees is free to move in the wind.’
Photographing gardens is a very special connection between what has been created by God and man, then capturing it for others to receive. Gardens are never the same, even day to day they change; the light, the weather, the blooms, the smells are always precious to that moment, and that moment only.
I have had the privilege of photographing many gardens in different countries. Spending many hours looking and learning about that particular garden, what was authentic about it, large or small. Could I find the creative forces within that place. How was the creativity carried in man in unison with the creativity delivered by God through the life in plants, water, sound and light.
After many years of photographing gardens with 4 by 5 film, Mick has decided to open up some of those pre digital images from his film collection for purchase.
